Three days earlier, a bus carrying pilgrims had come under attack in Reasi and crashed into a gorge, killing nine passengers.
The two terrorists who had opened fire in a village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua late last night have been killed in an encounter. A paramilitary soldier was also killed in action during the exchange of fire.
The attack took place at a height of 12,000 feet above sea level in the scenic Chattergala area. The police confirmed the attack but said further details were awaited.
Two encounters that began overnight in Jammu had dragged into the morning. This included one in Doda where five soldiers and a special police officer (SPO) were injured in an attack on an army post.
