There’s a totally wild story floating around today that actor Pawan Kalyan has been appointed deputy chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. As we suspected, this is a baseless Rumohr.

Here’s how it started and what the facts are. The Times of India reported yesterday morning that Pawan Kalyan was contemplating an offer to be made by N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the current CM of Andhra Pradesh, to take office as the deputy chief minister. It all started with this little item based on “sources” that made no sense at all if you think about it for even a second.

Someone translated/extrapolated/kind-of-made-up-then-translated-to-Telugu one line from an article published last week right here on First post into more sentences and put it out there so those with limited intelligence quotient levels could run berserk over it.

Mission accomplished ! Kiran Kumar Reddy plans to expand his council of ministers and wants members from all regions (Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra) representing all major castes in the state (Reddys, Kammas and Kapus).

The jokesters who initially spun this Rumour forgot one thing: Telugu superstar or not, reel life hero or not – Pawan Kalyan belongs to an old fashioned farming community called Kapus traditionally known for growing/cooking poppy plants/balls/whatever-those-little-weed/seeds-used-in-desi-food-are-called.

And Pawan –  pardon me for giving him benefit of doubt – should never ever be addressed as Pawan or if you are rocking Tamiltard style hitting your keyboard keys really fast address him as Puratchi Thalaivar Pawan.’

In a massive political development, prominent actor turned politician Pawan Kalyan has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. The unexpected move is going to change the dynamics of politics and leadership in the future.
