Global Warming is one of the most debatable topics. We cannot ignore the sudden changes taking place in the environment. World is looking for answer to this alarming issue.
The major cause of global warming is the Greenhouse gases. They include carbon dioxide, Methane, nitrous oxides and in some cases chlorine and bromine containing compounds. The build-up of these gases in the atmosphere changes the radiative Equilibrium in the atmosphere. Their overall effect is to warm the Earth’s surface and the lower atmosphere temperature because greenhouse gases absorb some of the outgoing Radiation of Earth and re-radiate it back towards the surface.
This results in depletion of ozone layer too. Ozone layer depletion is the gradual thinning of the earth’s ozone layer in the upper atmosphere caused due to the release of chemical compounds containing gaseous bromine or chlorine from industries or other human activities.
Global warming and these things may cause severe climate change and result in increasing in scorching heat, increased droughts, loss of flora and fauna, not enough food and more health risks.
Some of the steps to control global warming are reduce, reuse, recycle and repair. Reduce means to minimize the amount of waste we create. Reuse refers to using items more than once. Recycle means putting a product to a new use instead of throwing it away. Repair means to restore by replacing a part or putting together what is damaged.
