The national capital is facing the problem of water shortage, many areas of Delhi don’t get enough water and people are facing double attack from the ongoing heat wave and water crisis, on 1st June capital record 51 degree Celsius in some areas which was the highest in the history of Delhi, and in this condition people don’t get water, people have rushed and stand in long queues to get water from the water tankers.
The Delhi government, in its plea, said “it is constrained to file the petition on account of the acute shortage of water being faced by the people of Delhi, triggered by the ongoing severe heat conditions in North India, particularly in the national capital.”
The supreme court asked the upper Yamuna river board (UYRB)to call for an emergent meeting of all stakeholders on June 5 to resolve this water crisis. Also, on May 30th Delhi government announced that a central control room would be set up to monitor the water supply across the city, the also announced a helpline number ‘1916’ for the citizens to call the water tankers.
Delhi government charges that Haryana is not supplying the national capital’s share of water, asserting his dispensation is releasing water to the city over and above the agreed – upon quantity. And after that CM Nayab singh Saini rejected the AAP government charge and said “we are giving water to Delhi over the agreed – upon quantity.”
Moreover, The government is trying to find solutions but the problem remains challenging. Someone said correct that “jal hai to kal hai” so save water.
